Louisiana Tech University is looking for a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Repairer 1 to join the Physical Plant team! Our Physical Plant crew is dedicated to keeping campus academic buildings, classrooms, research labs, and administrative spaces running smoothly. Your work directly ensures that our students and faculty have top-tier, comfortable learning environments every single day.

Minimum Qualifications:

One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR
Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Job Duties and Other Information:

  • Performs general maintenance on campus buildings.
  • Performs all assignments related to work as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Cleans and replaces filters on air conditioners.
  • Replaces ceiling tiles, window screens; caulk doors and windows.
  • Replaces and installs hinges, knobs, doors, window blinds, etc.
  • Makes limited repairs to cleaning equipment.
  • Climbs ladders to replace light bulbs and clean out and replace light fixtures.
  • Performs minor painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
  • Assists in spraying for pests in campus facilities.

Appointment Type: This position will be filled as a Probationary Appointment.

Location: Louisiana Tech University, Physical Plant-Ruston, LA
Work Schedule: The typical work schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 4pm. May be required to work some overtime, weekends, or holidays.

Hourly Rate: $17.18
