Plant Analyst

Overview System One is partnering with a client seeking a Plant Analyst to serve as a key financial partner to plant leadership, providing reporting, forecasting, variance analysis, and actionable insights to improve operational and financial performance. This role connects production, labor, material usage, overhead, and throughput to financial results and supports cost control and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with plant leadership to translate operational performance into financial targets, forecasts, and recommendations.
  • Develop plant budgets, rolling forecasts, and financial models based on production and operational drivers.
  • Perform detailed variance analysis across labor, materials, overhead, productivity, and other plant costs.
  • Identify root causes, trends, risks, and opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Analyze production and operational data to improve cost visibility and financial performance.
  • Prepare and present financial and operational performance reports to plant and Finance leadership.
  • Support standardization and improvement of plant financial metrics, reporting, and processes.
  • Partner cross-functionally on continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 4+ years of finance/FP&A experience, with significant experience in a complex, high-level manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in plant finance, cost accounting, financial modeling, and operational analysis.
  • Proven ability to connect manufacturing operations and production drivers to financial outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools strongly preferred.
  • CPA, CFA, or other professional certification preferred.
