About the Role
The RMEP-T (Technician/Inventory Management) is an on-site role that reports to regional or site management, with dotted-line oversight from the Regional RMEP (RPLNR). This role is responsible for executing repeatable, high-volume inventory management activities and other RPLNR-directed deliverables for the assigned site or sub-region.The RPLNR retains ownership of all judgment-intensive, planning-curation, and stakeholder-facing responsibilities.
The RMEP-T will continue to support site technician work order completion in their capacity as a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (MRT) or Senior Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (SMRT), with approximately 50% of their working time dedicated to technician responsibilities.
In addition, the RMEP-T will remain eligible for overtime, when business needs require it and as approved by the site or regional management in coordination with the RPLNR.
As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (MRT) or Senior Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (SMRT), you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance Team repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment and provide operational support to aid in the smooth running of the sites.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Safety: Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
  • Maintenance: Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) which includes belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more.
  • Monitoring: Create, assign, and close out work order with data including labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used. Track and store department inventory.
  • Support: Mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.

  • Communication: Maintain positive working relationships across all of the Operations facility.
  • RMEP Support: Vendor management assistance, inventory control activities, situational procurement support and project support for asset and building management as described below under RMEP-T deliverable (Inventory Pathway).
Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • 1+ years of blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
  • 1+ years of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles.
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, with the ability to create and manage documents effectively.
  • Detail orientation and structured work approach required
  • Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus on Mechanical or Electrical field.
  • Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards.
  • Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
  • Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.
Physical Demands:
  • Must have ability to reach overhead, kneel, squat, climb steps/ladders, use an aerial lift, and frequently lift a maximum of 50 lbs. of equipment.
  • Ability to perform tasks wearing appropriate or required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include but is not limited to hard hat, face mask, face shield, and composite toe shoes.
  • Regularly required to crouch or bend and reach to install/move equipment.

  • Work in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures.
  • Work using computer systems and able to work at a desk in front of a computer screen for extended periods through the course of the day as required.
RMEP-T Deliverables (Inventory Pathway)
  • Receive inbound parts and check into APM within 48 hours; tag with date, APN, bin number
  • Execute weekly cycle counts to achieve % Store Counted ≥7.7% (Green)
  • Maintain shelf/bin labeling per Central Team standard (per LGB7 Inventory Management SOP)
  • Maintain spare-parts cage area to 5S / AO Readiness standards
  • Execute daily kitting; return 21-day-aged kits to inventory
  • Stage parts for DTW windows; submit PTRs / over-max escalation via RMEP
  • Submit warranty claims within 5 business days; record vendor information
  • Process RMAs - receive, store, update claim status in APM weekly
  • Execute AR KIVA RMA biweekly per KIVA RMA SOP
  • Aged PO first-pass data pull (>90 days); refresh supplier due dates in Coupa
  • Verify POC on all site POs in Coupa
  • NPI parts put-away to 100% with labeling; verify RSPLs in system prior to delivery
  • Parts cage 5S - weekly
  • Daily DTW meeting attendance and kit-verification / parts-staging confirmation
