We are a leader in youth development, providing a safe, affordable place for kids and teens during critical out-of-school time. Our Clubs offer life-changing programs and services to more than 26,000 youth throughout the greater Seattle area.

YouthForce Internship: Career Internship Program
About YouthForce
YouthForce (YF) is the career development program of the Boys and Girls Clubs of King County. Dedicated to leveling the professional playing field for youth from marginalized communities by empowering them to develop a vision for their future, providing them with meaningful experiences, and developing the resources and networks to help them achieve their goals.
About the Internship:
The YouthForce internship is a 6-8 week program for youth to experience a professional workplace while receiving professional development training and ongoing support from a program manager. You will work at one of our various partner businesses or organizations in Seattle, helping with a variety of tasks and learning professional skills.
Job Description:
Each internship site will provide a job description that will detail the responsibilities and duties expected of their interns. General responsibilities vary among sites, and are flexible based on intern skills and interests. Examples of sites include: Rainier Vista Boys & Girls Club, Thrive Communities, State Farm, BGKC Marketing, Youth Tutoring Programs, and STEM-related, ex. Neighbor Care, Museum of Flight, Pacific Science Center and more!
Some possible duties include:
• Attend and participate in weekly planning meetings.
• Front desk and administrative assistant duties.
• Maintenance work at partner property management companies.
• Work 1-on-1 or in small groups to tutor children on their reading, writing, and math skills.
• Chaperone students during field trips, making sure all are playing safely and respectfully.
• Creating public art projects such as murals for the community.
• Sending marketing outreach emails and communications.
• Customer service, cash handling, and point-of-sale register
STEM Based:
  • Learning how to use the VR headsets
  • Assisting other youth in virtual Job Shadows/Job Tours
  • Helping younger children with Robotics programs

Qualifications:
We are looking for interns who can demonstrate leadership, responsibility, and have a desire to gain professional skills needed in the work force. Interns should be able to maintain their schedule, communicate effectively, and perform their job duties to the best of their capability. No prior work experience is required.
Minimum Requirements:
• Live in King County
• Interest in learning new job skills
Location: Site-specific locations vary. All trainings are located at the Rainier Vista Boys & Girls Club @ 4520 Martin Luther King Jr. Way S., Seattle, WA 98108 (Some trainings may be virtual)
