Job description

Our client, an aerospace and defense organization in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Technical Planner for an initial 2 year contract. This individual will work onsite daily and will develop, maintain, and analyze complex Integrated Master Schedules using Microsoft Project and related planning tools.
The Technical Planner will support DoD weapons programs and partner with Program Management, Engineering, Finance, Contracts, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Mission Assurance to manage formal WBS structures, milestones, dependencies, resources, risks, baselines, cost/schedule performance, and program forecasts.
Required Skills:


  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in program planning, scheduling, or project controls, including development and maintenance of complex Integrated Master Schedules
  • Experience supporting DoD programs and working with formal program/WBS structures
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or a comparable scheduling tool
  • Hands-on experience with Earned Value Management concepts and processes, including EVM and EAC
  • Experience managing resource-loaded schedules with cost and schedule integration
  • Experience evaluating critical paths, schedule health, schedule metrics, dependencies, constraints, risks, and schedule performance
  • Experience establishing and maintaining schedule baselines and incorporating approved program or contractual changes
  • Experience working with cross-functional program teams to collect status, update schedules, and drive program execution
  • Bachelor’s degree or four additional years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance


Preferred Skills:


  • Experience working within a formal Earned Value Management System (EVMS), including EAC or LRE forecasting
  • Experience supporting DoD IPMDAR or IPMR reporting requirements
  • Experience managing contractual or programmatic baseline changes through the Baseline Change Request process
  • Experience conducting Monte Carlo schedule risk analysis
  • Experience using Milestones Professional, SSI Tools, Barbecana Full Monte, or SAP S/4HANA Dassian
  • Experience importing, exporting, converting, or automating Microsoft Project data
  • Experience supporting engineering development, production, sustainment, systems integration, or Agile development programs
  • Knowledge of DoD 5000, the Adaptive Acquisition Framework, IEEE 1490-2011, or IEEE 15288
