Who We're Looking For:

As a key member of the Finance team, the Senior Cost Accountantwill support the operations financial close for varied locations and prepare monthly financial reporting including KPIs to review with Finance, Plant Managers, and operations teams. The Senior Cost Accountant will support the team in all aspects of inventory including month-end reconciliation, excess and obsolete reserve analysis, and cycle counting analysis.

About the Role:

  • MonthEnd & Cost Accounting: Support monthend close activities including inventory, COGS, manufacturing variances, capital expenditures, journal entries, reconciliations, standard costing, and audit support.
  • Operations Finance Partnership: Serve as a key business partner to operations, supporting forecasting, AOP, budgets, strategic planning, capital spend planning, and costsavings initiatives (Kaizen, VSM, Six Sigma).
  • Costing & Variance Analysis: Research, calculate, and analyze labor, overhead, and material variances; review bills of materials; establish and maintain accurate product and standard costs in the ERP system.
  • Reporting, Modeling & Decision Support: Prepare financial models and analyses (e.g., make/buy decisions), production efficiency metrics, capital expenditure requests, and operational performance reports.
  • Inventory & Systems Support: Support physical inventories and cycle counts, ensure accurate inventory valuation, and assist with SAP/ERP implementations and system enhancements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years in Accounting or Finance positions with the majority in operations and/or manufacturing.
  • 3 -5 years experience with SAP
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI
  • Demonstrated professionalism in written and verbal communications, ability to effectively work with a cross-functional team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 - 5 years' experience with SAP
  • CPA / CMA / MBA preferred
  • Exposure to Planful, BPC, Oracle EPM, Blackline helpful
