The Pallet Trim Saw Operator is responsible for operating a variety of saws to cut, trim, and prepare pallet components according to precise specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical skill, and a commitment to safety. The operator ensures all cuts meet company quality standards while supporting efficient daily production. Success in this role requires consistency, accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safe equipment operation and a clean work area.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Saw Operator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating specific or multiple types of saws to cut or trim wood to exact measurements
  • Performing precise cuts by adjusting blades, speeds, and cutting techniques
  • Inspecting and measuring pallet components to ensure accurate and high-quality cuts
  • Sorting, stacking, and staging cut materials in designated areas
  • Meeting or exceeding daily production goals
  • Conducting daily inspections and general upkeep of saws and related equipment
  • Identifying wood types and grades to ensure correct material use
  • Safely operating a variety of hand tools, power tools, saws, and equipment
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workstation to reduce accidents and ensure compliance
  • Escalating equipment malfunctions or process issues to leadership promptly
  • Building effective working relationships with facility staff
  • Performing other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in pallet repair, woodworking, carpentry, or construction (preferred)
  • Knowledge of saw operation, safety, and maintenance (preferred)
  • Ability to work safely with high-powered saws in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or irregularities
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Any combination of education and experience will be considered
Physical Requirements
  • Standing and walking for long periods throughout the shift
  • Repetitive lifting, pushing, and pulling of 50 lbs or more
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a production environment
Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work in a warehouse environment. This may include exposure to dust, fluctuating temperatures (hot and cold), and moderate to high noise levels. Steel-toed boots and other personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required.
