Logistics Operations Analyst  

LOCATION: Midland - Texas  - USA 

DEPARTMENT: SUPPLY CHAIN 

Purpose 

The Logistics Operations Analyst will oversee yard execution, ensuring the efficient coordination of inventory management, and logistics operations. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and external carriers to meet delivery schedules and optimize yard logistics processes.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Logistics Coordination: Serve as a liaison between Midland Service Center and to other Tenaris yards (e.g., Conroe, Hickman, Baytown, MCC). Coordinate requests received from the LOGI and Sourcing, ensuring timely delivery of the correct product. Oversee yard and carrier execution, resolving delivery issues and maintaining seamless logistics operations.
  • Inventory Management: Process stock receptions, dispatches, transformations, and returns in SAP to maintain data accuracy for stock quantities and product descriptions. Perform inventory counts and monitor stock levels to align with production and scheduling needs.
  • KPI Reporting: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to carrier performance, yard operations, and truck turnaround times. Identify trends, develop insights, and propose solutions for efficiency improvements.
  • SAP Management: Post transactions in SAP to support the Yard's inventory alignment
  • Yard Projects and Execution: Manage yard-related projects, including system implementations, third-party yard setup, new service requirements, and logistics optimization.
  • Team Collaboration: Build strong relationships with  scheduling and production teams to ensure schedule adherence. Work with external carriers to optimize transportation and meet delivery demands.
  • Ensure the protection and proper use of facilities, equipment, and other physical resources within the yard.

 Qualifications and Skills :

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in logistics or yard operations.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience supporting logistics, yard execution, inventory management, or supply chain operations.
  • Proficiency in SAP for inventory control, yard transactions, and logistics execution, including accurate processing of inventory movements.
  • Experience managing inventory accuracy, scheduling, dispatch coordination, and carrier performance within a multi-yard or fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience in logistics data analysis, KPI tracking, and performance reporting using Excel (pivot tables) and Power BI.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify operational inefficiencies, solve complex logistics problems, and implement process improvements under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator, able to work across internal operations teams and external carriers while maintaining a strong customer- and performance-focused mindset, accountability for safety, and yard execution standards.

Work Schedule and Location:

  • Full-time onsite role based in Midland, TX
  • Availability for bi-weekly or monthly on-call rotations and flexibility for shift transitions and occasionally night and weekend customer requests
