Warehouse Associate – Non-Driver

Location: Portland, OR 97214
Pay: $20.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Position Type: Temporary with potential for permanent placement
PIT Equipment: Sit-down forklift experience is a plus, but not required to start
Footwear: Steel-toed work boots required

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to support daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced environment. This position will be responsible for receiving, stocking, picking, packing, shipping, and organizing materials while ensuring orders are accurate and processed efficiently.

Important: This is a non-driver position. Candidates selected for this role will not have any driving responsibilities and may not perform driving duties at any time during the assignment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pick, pull, and assemble orders for customers and other divisions.
  • Put away incoming stock and materials.
  • Receive UPS deliveries and verify incoming merchandise.
  • Load and unload common carriers and company vehicles as a warehouse function; no driving responsibilities are permitted.
  • Prepare customer orders for shipment via UPS and LTL.
  • Verify merchandise, quantities, and descriptions against invoices and shipping documents.
  • Pack orders securely and organize completed shipments according to truck route.
  • Complete shipping paperwork, including bills of lading (BOLs), postage/shipping labels, and customer shipping instructions.
  • Use a warehouse scanner and Warehouse Management System (WMS) to pick orders and put away received materials.
  • Perform basic inventory and quantity checks.
  • Substitute for other warehouse personnel as needed.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work area.
  • Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, order picking, or material-handling experience preferred.
  • Dependable and self-motivated with a strong attendance record.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Basic math skills for counting and verifying inventory and orders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers.
  • Willingness to learn warehouse processes and procedures.
  • General knowledge of electrical products is preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Sit-down forklift/PIT experience is a plus, but not required to start.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely perform warehouse activities, including picking, packing, stocking, receiving, and loading/unloading.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift as required for warehouse duties.
  • Steel-toed work boots are required.

This position is strictly non-driving. Employees selected for this assignment are not permitted to operate vehicles or perform any driving responsibilities for the entire duration of the assignment.
