We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Power Generation Mechanical Engineering Intern in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location. This role will begin in May/June of 2027 and will be full-time through the summer with the potential for part-time work during the school year. The starting hourly rate for this position is $23.10 with paid company holidays.

Your intern experience offers real-world experience through hands-on work in your field of study. Join a team of multi-disciplinary engineers supporting the operation, maintenance, performance and optimization of our Milwaukee Valley Power Plant. Receive mentoring and guidance from experienced engineers within Power Generation. Provide a vital support role to our generating fleet through a period of transition. Network with other engineering intern students throughout the fleet.

- Gain familiarity and competence with company computer applications, drawing management systems, and work management tools
- Search, retrieve, review and update drawings and related technical documentation
- Help troubleshoot operation and maintenance issues under direct supervision
- Participate in safety observations and environmental walkdowns
- Support outage planning activities such as scope development, material management and vendor selection
- Introduction to high energy piping inspections to detect and manage flow accelerated corrosion
- Complete assigned training on corporate policies, plant systems, and safety
- High School Diploma, GED, or HSED.
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or other related Engineering majors with a graduation date after July 2027.
- Minimum GPA of 2.8.
- Valid driver's license.
- Related school project experience is preferred
- Internship experience is preferred
End Date: 11/15/2026
Pay Range Minimum: 23.10
Pay Range Maximum: 27.55
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
