ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Develop working knowledge of dozens of methods used for welding a variety of materials and components
  • Follow safety protocol, including wearing heat resistant gloves, a protective mask, and safety glasses
  • Inspect equipment and structures,
  • Follow sketches and specifications
  • Able to weld on pipe from any position (i.e., standing, kneeling, lying down on side or back, and in all these positions from a scaffold)
  • Handle and use portable electric or air grinders and buffers, pre-heating equipment and hand wire brushes
  • Secure work site at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and safety of equipment and materials
  • Complete all required written tests, hands-on training, and Operator Qualification modules
  • Other duties assigned

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Able to weld according to required specifications
  • Able to pass welding test
  • DOT Medical Card - If driving company vehicle
  • Valid Driver's License
  • The physical activity required for this role includes:
    • Moving around, under, and over pipes
    • Moving over uneven and variable terrain or in confined spaces
    • Enter and exit trenches by either a ladder or a ramp
    • Exposure to a wide range of weather conditions, including hot and cold weather
    • Exposure to loud work environments
    • Standing, sitting, or walking for long periods of time
    • Other repetitive movements, such as kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching
    • Repeatedly lifting heavy loads (up to 50 lbs.)
    • Correctly wearing protective gear
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
