Job description

Pilot Manager - Edge AI Inferencing
Description -
The Piot Manager for Edge AI Inferencing will be responsible for identifying, validating, and scaling new customer opportunities for HP's Edge AI solutions. This role operates at the intersection of customers, partners, and HP's sales and product teams, with a focus on taking emerging inferencing solutions from early pilots to repeatable, scalable GTM motions.
The Pilot Manager will work closely with silicon and software partners, HP sales teams, and product leaders to identify high-value use cases, secure lighthouse customers, and generate market signal that informs product and GTM strategy. Success requires comfort operating in ambiguity, strong technical curiosity, and the ability to convert early experimentation into durable business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Opportunity Identification
  • Identify and engage prospective customers for Edge AI inferencing pilots, focusing on real-world, production-oriented use cases.
  • Work closely with HP sales teams to surface customer needs, qualify opportunities, and align pilots to clear business outcomes.
  • Act as the primary owner for early customer engagements, from initial discovery through pilot execution and expansion.

Partner-Led Business Development
  • Collaborate with silicon and software partners to jointly identify customer opportunities and co-develop pilot engagements.
  • Support partner-led GTM motions by aligning customer demand with partner capabilities and HP platforms.
  • Serve as a bridge between partners, customers, and internal HP teams to ensure alignment and execution.

Edge AI Inferencing Focus
  • Drive opportunities centered on AI inferencing at the edge, including real-time, low-latency, and cost-optimized deployments.
  • Help validate emerging workloads such as computer vision, vision-language models (VLMs), multimodal inference, and agentic workflows deployed on edge platforms.
  • Translate technical capabilities into customer-relevant value propositions and pilot success criteria.

Pilot Execution & Scale Learning
  • Own pilot definition and execution in partnership with sales, product, engineering, and partners.
  • Capture learnings from pilots-what works, what doesn't, and why-and feed that signal back into GTM and product strategy.
  • Identify patterns across pilots that indicate scalable opportunities, repeatable vertical use cases, or emerging market demand.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Product Management and Product Marketing to inform roadmap priorities, solution packaging, and messaging.
  • Partner with HP sales leadership to support enablement, opportunity expansion, and early pipeline development.
  • Contribute to internal GTM forums by sharing customer insights, competitive observations, and market signal.

What Success Looks Like
  • A steady pipeline of qualified Edge AI inferencing pilots with clear paths to scale.
  • Strong collaboration with partners and HP sales teams that accelerates customer adoption.
  • Clear identification of repeatable use cases and vertical opportunities.
  • High-quality market signal that informs GTM strategy and product direction.

Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of experience in business development, technical sales, partnerships, or GTM, ideally in AI, edge computing, or enterprise infrastructure.
  • Experience working with software platforms, AI frameworks, and/or silicon ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to engage customers in early-stage or emerging solution areas.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical detail and business outcomes.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with evolving priorities.

Attributes for Success
  • Customer-first mindset - focused on solving real problems, not pushing products.
  • Signal-driven - able to identify meaningful patterns from early customer engagements.
  • Collaborative - thrives working across sales, partners, product, and engineering.
  • Curious and adaptable - eager to learn new technologies and markets.
  • Execution-oriented - moves opportunities forward with urgency and discipline.

The pay range for this role is $147,050 to $230,850 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
