Job description

About the role: The Packaging Lead is responsible for overseeing daily packaging line operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. This role serves as the bridge between frontline associates and supervisors, providing hands-on leadership, coordinating workflows, and troubleshooting issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This role is fully on-site in our new Mesa, AZ facility.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and coordinate daily activities of packaging associates on assigned lines or shifts
  • Ensure production schedules are executed efficiently to meet throughput and delivery targets
  • Monitor product quality and enforce GMP, SOP, and safety compliance standards
  • Perform line setup, changeovers, and basic equipment adjustments as needed
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical or process issues and escalate when necessary
  • Verify accurate labeling, lot tracking, and packaging documentation
  • Train and onboard new team members on packaging processes, equipment, and quality expectations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of packaging areas
  • Track and report production metrics, downtime, and yield performance
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams to resolve operational challenges
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
  • Additional duties assigned by Production Supervisor

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or packaging operations
  • Prior experience in a lead or team leadership role preferred
  • Familiarity with GMP-regulated environments (cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or food production strongly preferred)
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to support equipment troubleshooting
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fast-paced production environment with standing, lifting up to 30 pounds unassisted, and repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends during peak production or startup phases
  • Comfortable working in manufacturing environments with exposure to chemicals, powders, and equipment noise.

Pay Details: $20.00 per hour
