Job description

Responsible for maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, electric forklifts and pallet jacks, and for building maintenance.
Must have experience in performing routine preventative maintenance on mechanical handling equipment (36 volt DC forklifts, 24 volt DC pallet jacks, Propane sweepers, etc.).
Must document records of maintenance, inspections and repairs in computer.
Must Select repair parts and update parts record and complete computer data entry.
Must have experience with repairing mechanical damage and replacing defective parts, which may include welding, brazing, and soldering. Repairs are made to mechanical handling equipment, racking, floors, piping and other warehouse structural components.
Must apply mechanical skills and knowledge to troubleshooting and repair of electrical, plumbing, pipe fitting, fabrication, building construction and other warehouse maintenance/repair situations.
Must read and interpret schematics, drawings and other diagnostic aids in the scope of troubleshooting, repair and fabrication work.
Must have experience with mechanical hand tools, and with measuring devices (tape measures, micrometers, drill gauges, etc.).
Must be able to lift and carry parts up to 50 pounds on a routine basis and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Must do frequent bending, kneeling, working overhead, beside and underneath equipment or in racking. Must work on ladders, elevated platforms and in confined spaces. Must be able to work in a variety of temperatures such as outside, in the freezer, in the heat or cold.
Must be able to work in noisy environment (ear protection required).
Must be able to work in a repair shop using materials associated with the warehouse and related equipment. Must wear proper protective clothing and gear. Must use safety harness, eye protection and utilize the lockout tagout system.
