Apprentices learn to assemble, install, maintain, and repair piping systems used in heating, cooling, and industrial processes. The program typically lasts 4-5 years and is designed to provide practical experience under the supervision of experienced journeymen, as well as technical knowledge in safety, blueprint reading, and welding. Upon completion, apprentices become journeyman pipefitters and may pursue further certifications or specializations.
