Bell Plumbing is looking to add an experienced Mechanical and Piping Insulator to our Indianapolis team!

Mechanical and piping insulators apply insulation to pipes, ducts, tanks, and other mechanical systems to control temperature, reduce energy loss, prevent condensation, and protect personnel from hot or cold surfaces. Working in industrial, commercial, and residential settings, they use materials like fiberglass, foam, and rubber, requiring skills in measuring, cutting, and fitting insulation in various, sometimes confined, spaces.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install insulation on pipes, water lines, drain lines, ductwork, boilers, and other equipment to manage temperature and protect systems.
  • Measure, cut, and prepare various insulation materials, such as fiberglass, foam, and rubber, for application.
  • Apply insulation to prevent heat and cold transfer, reduce energy consumption, and control condensation and noise.
  • Inspect existing insulation, remove old or damaged materials, and make repairs as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated pipe insulation experience (commercial projects).
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Possess Construction OSHA 10 or the ability to complete the course in orientation.
  • The ability to work with tools and hands to measure, cut, and install materials accurately.
  • The capacity to work in various conditions, including extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively individually as well as in a team environment.
  • Understanding of different insulation materials, their properties, and the technical requirements for their application.
  • Ability to clear a motor vehicle report and pre-employment drug screen.
