Job description

Job Requirements
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs cardiac/vascular diagnostic procedures for interpretation by physicians; operates cardiac/vascular ultrasound diagnostic equipment, structured report/image management systems, performs diagnostic protocols in compliance with Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) standards. Familiar with operations of electrocardiograph (ECG) machine, holter and other event monitor systems, and stress test equipment.
JOB DUTIES:
1. Performs adult, pediatric and neonatal cardiac ultrasound.
2. Documents echocardiography studies/images/measurements utilizing digital
structured report image management system.
3. Prepares patients and equipment for procedures; explains procedures to
patients and/or families.
4. May be asked to be cross-trained to perform non-invasive vascular
diagnostic procedures.
5. Assists with the orientation of healthcare students and nurses.
6. Maintains cleanliness of equipment and work area. Reports equipment malfunctions to manager.
7. Has good working knowledge of ECG and Echocardiographic interpretations.
8. Basic understanding of:
a. Routine and STAT electrocardiographic procedures;
b. Application and removal of holter monitors.
9. Basic understanding of scheduling of patients, electronic filing, and distribution of reports.
10. Contacts physicians/offices with preliminary results/critical test
results, as required.
11. Ensures accuracy in the medication process, including transport,
storage, security, and/or administration of medications to include IV
solutions.

4. Maintains the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information. Uses and discloses only that information which is necessary to perform the function of the job.
5. Performs related duties as assigned.
