Administration Building


Job Summary:ย  The HR Generalist is responsible for providing support to assigned area(s) for a wide variety of human resources activities including, recruiting, compensation, and employee and labor relations. The HR generalist will advise administrators, supervisors, and employees in HR practices, provide information to employees about regulations, contract language, and policies, and to provide general support.ย 

Position Information:

  • Full-Time, with benefits
  • 261 work days per year

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinates recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, and temporary employees within assigned area.ย  This includes job posting, review of resumes, interviews, collecting interview materials, background investigation, pre-employment physicals, reference checking, employment offers, salary/hourly rate determination, and onboarding of new hires.
  2. Responsible for new-employee orientation process including comprehensive benefits review, employee contract/handbook review, I-9, w-4, policy, and other new employee paperwork.
  3. Assist in the review, testing and implementation of HRIS system upgrades. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  4. Advise and guide supervisors and managers regarding recruitment/staffing policies and procedures.
  5. Coordinate with department managers and team leaders to identify current and future hiring needs.
  6. Handle all correspondence and claims related to unemployment compensation.
  7. Correspond with and assist district employees and candidates with all staffing questions and concerns.
  8. Maintain list of all current, upcoming and filled vacancies. Maintain list of all upcoming retirements.
  9. Coordinate and attend recruitment events.
  10. Handles employee/labor relations issues within assigned area.ย  Participate in investigations into formal complaints and disciplinary proceedings
  11. Maintains HRIS records and compiles reports.
  12. Assist with submission of reports including but not limited to PIMS, EEO Report, and other employee related reports, as necessary.
  13. Update job descriptions as necessary.
  14. Meet with employees who have been approved for FMLA/LOA and coordinate staffing to temporarily fill the vacancy.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • Recruiting Experienceย
