Job description

The Product Information Specialist is responsible for executing product information, content enrichment, taxonomy, and data quality initiatives that support exceptional customer experiences across digital and operational channels. This role plays a critical part in improving product discoverability, navigation, search, filtering, merchandising, and overall eCommerce performance by ensuring product information is accurate, complete, enriched, and aligned with established product information standards. Working closely with the Product Information Manager and Digital Merchant, this role serves as a key execution resource supporting website redesign initiatives, product taxonomy transformations, PIM implementation efforts, assortment expansion, content enrichment programs, and ongoing product information management activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute product authoring, maintenance, enrichment, publication, and retirement activities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support assortment growth initiatives by onboarding and enriching new products, supplier assortments, and expanded product lines.
  • Acquire, validate, normalize, enrich, and maintain product information from suppliers, manufacturers, data aggregators, AI-generated content, and internal sources.
  • Maintain product specifications, descriptions, images, documents, attributes, classifications, and supporting product content across systems.
  • Execute product taxonomy mapping, category assignments, SKU reclassification, and product classification initiatives.
  • Support taxonomy modernization efforts designed to improve customer navigation, product discoverability, filtering, and search experiences.
  • Execute attribute mapping, attribute assignment, inheritance models, and ongoing maintenance of category-level attribute frameworks.
  • Support development and maintenance of approved attribute value standards and Lists of Values (LOVs).
  • Validate products against established taxonomy, classification, attribute, and content governance standards.
  • Monitor and maintain product eligibility standards across eCommerce, marketplaces, syndication partners, and other digital channels.
  • Identify products that fail eligibility, enrichment, content, attribute, or quality standards and execute corrective actions.
  • Conduct data quality audits and remediation activities to improve completeness, consistency, accuracy, and usability.
  • Support website redesign, search optimization, navigation improvements, merchandising enhancements, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Partner with Digital Merchandising to improve product discoverability and customer engagement through improved content, classifications, and attributes.
  • Support creation and maintenance of product relationships including accessories, alternatives, substitutes, related items, and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Support Product Information Management (PIM) implementation, migration, validation, testing, training, and ongoing administration activities.
  • Execute product data migration, mapping, transformation, cleansing, and validation activities across systems.
  • Assist with development and documentation of product information standards, processes, operating procedures, and eCommerce data models.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to obtain, validate, and improve product information.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts focused on customer experience, product information quality, operational efficiency, and digital growth.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Product Information Management, Merchandising, Marketing, Data Management, eCommerce, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in product content management, product information management, merchandising operations, eCommerce, master data, or related disciplines.
  • Experience working with large product catalogs and detailed product information.
  • Experience performing general product enrichment, data cleanup, mapping, validation, and maintenance activities.
  • Strong understanding of taxonomy, classification, attributes, product content, and customer-facing product experiences.
  • Experience working with supplier, manufacturer, and third-party data aggregator content feeds, including data mapping, transformation, standardization, enrichment, and validation activities to improve product content quality, attribute coverage, and overall product information completeness.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience analyzing large datasets to identify key trends and patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with search, recommendation, personalization, merchandising, or digital experience platforms.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Google BigQuery, or similar analytical data environments for data validation, reporting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience utilizing BI and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Looker Studio to communicate insights and monitor KPIs.
