Jones Truck & Implement is seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Haul Semi Truck Driver to transport agricultural equipment between our dealership locations and customer sites. This role primarily involves pulling a lowboy trailer hauling wide-load equipment, including combines and other large farm machinery.
The position is based out of our Colfax, WA location and supports operations across Walla Walla, WA; Moses Lake, WA; and The Dalles, OR.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a semi-truck with lowboy trailer to transport oversized agricultural equipment
- Haul combines and other large equipment between dealership locations and customer sites
- Perform wide-load hauling in compliance with all state and federal regulations
- Load, secure, and unload equipment using proper procedures and safety standards
- Coordinate and work with pilot car drivers when required for oversize loads
- Support service departments by transporting equipment to and from service shops
- Assist with delivery of new and used equipment to customers
- Perform general maintenance on trucks and trailers, including routine inspections and minor repairs
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate logs
- Coordinate routes and permits for oversize loads as needed
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and report maintenance needs promptly
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record
- Experience hauling heavy or oversized loads (lowboy experience preferred)
- Knowledge of load securement practices and DOT regulations
- Ability to obtain or maintain necessary permits for wide loads
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic maintenance preferred
- Experience working with pilot cars or oversized load logistics is a plus
- Willingness to travel between company locations and customer sites
Work Environment & Schedule
- Primarily regional travel with routes between JTI locations and customer farms
- Home most nights, depending on delivery schedules
- Occasional extended hours during peak agricultural seasons
