Role Description
The Director, Data Quality Issues Management Pillar Lead is a critical role reporting to the Head of Data Quality Issues Management for the Americas Division within the CDAO.G. This experienced leader will drive the Data Quality Issues Management program and comply with our standards and procedures across stakehoders teh pillar is supporting. This collaborative incumbent will work across DMDAD Data Management Executives, Functional / Entity Data Officers, Data Stewards and Data Owners to properly address Issues remediation. He/ She will lead a DQIM team and forums with key business and technical stakeholders to document, assess and remediate data quality issues. Matrix management of resources to address complex issues to optimize the efficiency and data issues being documentd, resolve data quality issues/problems, and collaborate with database developers to improve functional and non-functional design of a proprietary workflow application.
Scope
This specialized role leads the Data Quality Issue Management (DQIM) effort in support of the overall Data Quality Program within the Data Product Management and Delivery in working with both business and technical stakeholders in the Americas to adhere to the Policy Standard and Procdures for Data Quality (DQ) Issues and Data Quality Excpetion Issues. The incumbent will utilize an SMBC propretary workflow application as the central repository in support of the Americas Division.
Role Objectives: Interpersonal
  • Lead, mentor and manage 2-3 DQIM team members in the adherance to Data Quality Issue Management Policy, Standard and Procedures with both business and technical areas in the Americas Division.
  • DQ Issues analysis: Identify, compare, and resolve Data Quality Issues, leading data quality working groups
  • Lead the vetting of all Data Quality Issues with key stakeholders inlcude Data Stewards
  • Lead team in Functional and Non-Functional requirements documentation based on feedback from end-users for development (JIRA)
  • Ensure UAT test cases and testing support - work with Enteprise Data Quality Manager and Business stakeholders to validate enhancements based on acceptance criteria
  • DQ Issues analysis: Identify, compare, and resolve Data Quality Issues, leading data quality working groups
  • Lead the facilitation of documentation of business impact and mitigating controls for Data Quality Issues
  • Develop process improvements to increase operational efficiency
  • Ensure and develop training materials, documentation and visual queues
  • Provide Data Quality Issue Management training and presentations to key internal stakeholders/teams

  • Must have prior experience with Data Quality Issue Management, including the documentation, root cause analysis, remediation of DQ Issues, and an understanding of Data Governance best practices.

  • Proven skills in MS Office suite, MS Excel (PowerBI) and MS Project and Powerpoint

  • Must be able to write simple and complex SQL queries (table joins, ETL) and perform analysis on data
  • Familiar with JIRA Issue and Project Tracking application, SDLC phases and process
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision and proven ability to meet established deadlines with demonstrated ability successfully manage multiple priorities and stakeholders under pressure

Qualifications and Skills
  • Work Experience:10 +years of specialized experience in Financial Services
  • Education: Required: BA / BS

  • Language Skills: Business fluency in the following language(s): English
  • Software Systems / Programming Languages
  • Knowledge of Data Issue Management workflows, Advanced Excel, Microsoft Suite (Project, Powerpoint, Word etc.), SQL, Power BI, Visio
