Job description
Automotive techs deal with conflicts every day.
First among them is the pressure to flag as many hours as possible….to grab as many “no brainer” jobs as they can. Which is in direct conflict with a professional technician’s desire to solve complex technical problems.
Unfortunately, flat rates don’t fairly compensate for the effort, time and skill some of those tasks require.
Ray Laethem has a better idea.
A guaranteed hourly wage not contingent on variable, unpredictable flat rates.
This eliminates the need to pile up the flat rate hours, making it possible for a Tech to make a comfortable, predictable living while working in a friendly, non-competitive, customer-friendly environment.
