26-27 Pike Market Food Bank Services Specialist
This is an AmeriCorps/Washington Service Corps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. Pike Market Senior Center & Food Bank is located in the historic Pike Place Market. We have been serving neighbors in the heart of Seattle since 1978. Pike Market Food Bank serves people of any age. We provide resources and services to promote healthier, more self-sufficient and fulfilling lives. Our food bank serves a variety of visitors including people who live in downtown Seattle and those who travel downtown for work. The member will support our operations by greeting and serving visitors, connecting with local businesses, and becoming integrated into our staff community. We expect to begin rolling review of applications and interviews in late July. Monthly stipend amount: $3,157.
Member Duties : The Food Bank Services Specialist helps Pike Market Food Bank achieve our goal of increasing the health and well-being of our visitors by providing essential operational support. They will greet, check in, and pack groceries for visitors; provide support to staff on our market-stand grocery line; pick up and sort donations from local vendors; deliver groceries to homebound clients; receive training in de-escalation, trauma-informed practices, warehouse operations, and have the opportunity to shadow staff positions; take on special projects aligned to member goals and interests.
Program Benefits : Childcare assistance if eligible , Stipend , Training , Education award upon successful completion of service , Health Coverage , Monthly stipend amount: $3,157 .
