Job description

Position Summary:The Field Mechanic position works at various locations. The position requires experience in engine diagnostics, chassis, and hydraulic systems. The position may also require travel to another state depending on customer demands.ย 

Essential Functions:ย 

  • Responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy on road/off road equipment used to service the utility industry.ย 
  • Work safely while performing repairs or maintenance on a job site in various weather conditions.ย 
  • Troubleshoot/diagnose equipment breakdowns in a timely safe manner and repair as needed.ย 
  • Must be able to learn and understand safe work practices for equipment set up and grounding procedures for equipment repairs that may be near energized systems.ย 
  • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.ย 
  • Does all other related work as required to complete the job.ย 

Minimum Requirements:ย 

  • Requires 2 years of experience in heavy on road/off road equipment repair.ย 
  • Able to perform rigorous physical labor.ย 
  • Must have or be able to obtain a class A CDL permit/license within the first 90 days of employment.ย 
  • Must have own basic tools required to perform equipment repairs.ย 
  • Must be able to perform work in most if not all the following areas:

  • Diesel/Gas Enginesย ย 
  • Steering Systemsย 
  • Drive Trainย 
  • HVACย 
  • Welding/Metal Fabricationย
