TravelNurseSource is working with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to find a qualified PICU RN in Peoria, Illinois, 61637!

Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – PICU / Pediatrics

Location

Peoria, IL | Pediatric ICU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | No Rotation | Block Scheduling Available

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients with complex medical conditions including cerebral palsy, chromosomal disorders, short-gut syndrome, metabolic disorders, spinal muscular atrophy, and premature birth
  • Manage and troubleshoot tracheostomy and ventilator patients using equipment such as pulse ox Nonin, LTV vents, and Trilogy 100
  • Administer and prepare medications on-unit (no on-site pharmacy; nurses prep all medications)
  • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–4 within a 12-bed, all-private-room unit
  • Collaborate with charge nurses, PCTs, APNs, and on-call physicians to deliver comprehensive patient care
  • Participate in weekend and holiday rotations; possibility of floating to PIC or PICU at a children's hospital
Required Qualifications
  • Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
  • PALS certification required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum of 1 year of Pediatric ICU experience
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
  • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience caring for tracheostomy and ventilator-dependent pediatric patients
  • Familiarity with RT treatments administered by nursing staff, including high-flow, CPAP, and BiPAP
  • Experience with medically complex pediatric populations in a long-term or transitional care setting
  • Passion for providing care to children with complex medical needs in a home-like environment
