Esplanade at Skye Ranch, located in Sarasota, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for General Manager! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of club operations. As an associate of Troon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in community management.

The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day operations of the club. This executive role oversees all aspects of the facility, ensuring an exceptional member and guest experience while driving operational excellence, financial performance, and team development. The General Manager serves as the primary ambassador for the club, fostering strong relationships with members, guests, associates, and the surrounding community.

As the true signature of an Esplanade community, residents enjoy unique and plentiful opportunities to stay active, fit and relaxed and have access to several exciting amenities, including an exceptionally appointed resort campus, multiple pools, fitness center, gymnasium with basketball courts, community parks, sports fields, tennis, bocce, and pickleball courts, pet park, and enjoy grand wine tastings, exclusive culinary experiences and spa & wellness events.

Compensation: $130,000-$145,000

Essential Duties:

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for all club operations, ensuring exceptional member and guest experience while maintaining the highest standards of service.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor annual operating and capital budgets, business forecasts, financial reports, and key performance metrics to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop department leaders and associates through recruiting, hiring, onboarding, performance management, training, and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, Human Resources procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Oversee the maintenance, appearance, and long-term planning of all club facilities, grounds, and physical assets.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to drive operational excellence across operations, food and beverages, and other amenities.
  • Partner with leadership on marketing and community engagement initiatives to promote club programs and drive business growth.
  • Foster a collaborative, service-focused culture while building strong relationships with members, guests, associates, vendors, and the local community.
  • Directly supervise department leaders.
  • Maintain active involvement in industry organizations and pursue ongoing professional development to remain current on hospitality and industry best practices.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Multi-course facilities may require more experience.)

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly stands, walks and sits. Occasionally may climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes or smells.  Regularly uses hands to finger, feel or handle, reaches with arms and hands, talks or hears.  Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Environment/Noise:

  • Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.

Certificates/Licenses:

  • CAI: CMCA and/or PCAM
  • CMAA : CCM

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
