Job description

Receiving - Valves

This position is responsible for operating a forklift, as well as picking, packing, sorting, shipping and receiving of orders to meet the facility's productivity and quality goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience operating: Forklift, Reach Truck, Order Picker
  • Familiarity with Ball valves, trunnions, butterfly valves and how to handle material properly
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail (familiar with visual inspection on valves)
  • 1+ years’ experience in shipping and receiving
  • 1+ years’ experience with forklift operations
  • 1+ years’ experience in order picking
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics
  • Capable of working a consistent schedule starting at 7AM
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Reliable transportation
  • Committed to working safely and following policies and procedures of the operation
  • Positive attitude; good team player

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives and unloads freight both manually or with equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks
  • Checks for damaged goods
  • Verify quantity and quality of order with purchase order or packing list
  • Delivers and retrieves product from storage areas
  • Tags and issues product
  • Stocks shelves according to valve type and rotates inventory
  • Knowledge of Ball valves, Butterfly Valves, Trunnion Valves
  • May operate forklift, reach truck or stand-up order picker to move, transport, or hoist material
  • Observe all safety precautions and wear appropriate PPE at all times
  • Crosstrain on alternate assignments and perform duties in other work areas as needed
  • Maintain Housekeeping in assigned work area
  • Any other duties as requested by respective supervisor and/or manager

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently exert 10 to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects
  • Work involves long periods of standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching; may also include climbing ladders
  • Able to work within receiving guidelines and expectations
