Overview
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Travel assignment in Newark, New York. This position supports a 41-bed short-term rehab unit within a skilled nursing setting, caring for adult and geriatric patients. Start date: 09/08/2026. Duration: Weeks. Shift: 5x8 Evenings. Weekly pay: $1,233–$1,280 per week. No guaranteed hours. First-time travelers accepted. Active NY nursing license required to submit; EPIC charting experience is required.

Responsibilities
- Provide bedside nursing care for adult and geriatric residents on a 41-bed unit, including medication administration and treatment per the plan of care.
- Perform wound care and wound VAC management; manage IV therapy and PICC line care; provide nephrostomy care as needed.
- Care for post-operative orthopedic and cardiac patients; monitor for complications and respond to changes in condition.
- Monitor patient status, vital signs, and lab results; maintain and update care plans; communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team.
- Document accurately in EPIC; ensure charting aligns with nursing standards and unit policies; collaborate with PT, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary.
Requirements
- Active New York LPN license in hand to submit
- BLS certification
- EPIC charting experience required
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- Experience with wound care, wound VACs, IV therapy, PICC line care, and nephrostomy care is preferred
- Comfort working on a unit with acuity approximately 1:10
