Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring ICU experience and a passing telemetry exam score prior to start.

Details
  • Work in the Neuro ICU of a hospital environment
  • Cares for both ICU and IMC patient populations
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30
  • Required to work every other weekend with some holiday coverage required
  • May be scheduled for a contingent weekend if requesting off a scheduled weekend
  • Floating required as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
  • Active WI or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care ICU experience within the last 3 years required
  • Neurosurgery experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting the assignment
Additional Information
  • Provide critical care nursing to neuro ICU patients including stroke, craniotomy, neurosurgery, and traumatic brain injury cases
  • Manage ventilated patients, arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines
  • Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and paralytics as needed
  • Perform EVD, ICP monitoring, and lumbar drain management
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
  • Must pass a telemetry exam within two attempts before starting, with a third attempt allowed only after completing a cardiac interpretation review course
  • References are not required for consideration
  • First-time travelers are not specified as accepted for this role
