Additionally, editors frequently collaborate with authors, reviewers, and designers to manage deadlines and maintain high editorial standards, making strong communication and project management skills essential.

What is Physics Today?

Physics Today is a monthly magazine published by the American Institute of Physics. It serves as a key source of news, commentary, and analysis for the physics community, covering research developments, policy issues, and the broader impact of physics on society. The magazine features articles written by experts, reviews of books and research, and updates on conferences and events. It is widely read by physicists, educators, and students seeking to stay informed about trends and breakthroughs in the field.

Job description

Follow your passion

Are you ready to lead the next chapter of educational excellence? At Zeta, we pursue an unprecedented combination of high academic achievement and social-emotional development for our students. Deliver powerful results

To achieve our vision, we are searching for a Physics Teacher with a Bachelor's degree (physics or math degree preferred), and at least 1-2+ years of lead teaching experience (NY certification preferred), with a proven record of propelling extraordinary student growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement inquiry-driven, experiment-based lessons that engage students in rigorous scientific thinking—designing investigations, analyzing data, and applying physics concepts to real-world phenomena.
  • Demonstrate deep expertise in high school physics content and practices, guiding students to master key concepts, develop strong problem-solving skills, and excel on assessments.
  • Build a classroom culture where curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration thrive—and where students feel empowered to question, explore, and innovate.
  • Serve as an Advisor to a small cohort of students, developing meaningful relationships with families and supporting each student's personal and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to co-create a rigorous, joyful founding high school environment rooted in Zeta's mission and values.
  • Use data, feedback, and student work to assess learning, inform instruction, and continuously refine practice.
  • Embrace the "start-up spirit" of a founding team—adapting quickly, solving problems creatively, and building systems that will define the future of Zeta High School.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and coaching to sharpen your craft and contribute to a team that believes in doing hard things exceptionally well.
Join our purpose-driven community

Zeta teammates are lifelong learners who live with child-like joy and a deep sense of purpose. We disrupt the status quo and tackle problems together. Our team stands united by our commitment to a limitless future for every child. Our Zeta team is comprised of top talent with incredible schooling and private sector experience. At Zeta:

  • We are humble, willing to put the team's needs ahead of our own, and committed to contributing to a collaborative work environment
  • We have a high bar for excellence and sweat over the details
  • We are caring and put team over individual at all times

We are hiring for the 2026–2027 school year, with a start date of July 27, 2026. The salary range for this position is between $75,000 and $115,500. New hires can expect to be brought into the organization at a salary closer to the beginning of the range, depending on relevant experience, certification status, and internal equity. Compensation is based on our salary scales.
