POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on summer Intern to support our Engineering team. In this role, you will gain experience with manufacturing systems, engineering design, documentation and writing procedures. This internship experience is ideal for a technical engineering student with a background in Physics, Engineering, Acoustics and/or Drafting and is to provide meaningful industry experience while allowing room for learning and growth.

POSITION GUIDELINES

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build an Acoustic Test box using work tools

• Assist with poling board assembly

• Assist with writing procedures for the Powder Department

• Assist with laser marking parts

• Design and build 3-D fixtures

• Assist with documenting fixtures, procedures, etc.

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience/Background

• Some understanding of work instructions and process documentation is preferred.

• Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.

• This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a U.S. person or protected individual within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines U.S. persons and protected individuals as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), U.S. Temporary Resident, Political Asylee or Refugee.

Skills

• Good computer skills with a basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English

• Mechanical aptitude and good math skills

• Ability to manage time and prioritize responsibilities

• Able to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion

• Must be highly motivated, self-starter and work as a team player

• Must have high levels of attention to detail and quality, be able to multitask and stay organized

• Must demonstrate the ability to act professionally

• Must be able to occasionally move about in production areas as needed

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
