The role combines detector physics, computational modeling, signal processing, and product development to create and manufacture neutron and gamma-ray detectors.
This position requires a strong background in applied physics and the ability to translate scientific principles into commercially successful products through simulation, experimentation, data analysis, and cross-functional engineering collaboration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and develop novel neutron and gamma radiation detectors for BWR, SMR and PWR nuclear reactors.
  • Analyze and model detector response, gas gain behavior, pulse formation, and electronic signal characteristics.
  • Optimize detector performance, sensitivity, gamma rejection, energy resolution, and count rate capabilities.
  • Design and perform laboratory testing, calibration and qualification programs.
  • Evaluate and advance the "state of the art" neutron detection technologies for business development applications.

Research & Development Leadership
  • Convert customer requirements into system and product specifications.
  • Lead multidisciplinary R&D efforts from concept through commercialization.
