What are the primary responsibilities in the System Engineer position?

The System Engineer will perform a variety of roles in the engineering design and production teams. This role may include membership or leadership in a team executing a development contract. It may also include internal R&D projects or support of the production or product sustainment activities. This role may have a large degree of independence and responsibility for delivering results with little or no oversight. The role is also likely to be involved with multiple different activities simultaneously that may include design, test, production, proposal support, and customer interaction and support.

What required background will make you successful?

  • BS or higher in engineering, physics, computer science, or mathematics.
  • At least 7 years’ experience (or 5 years with M.S.) as an engineer or developer in at least one of the following fields: Electronic hardware design, DSP design, FPGA implementation, RF system design and performance specifications, high speed networks, software development.
  • Experience developing and analyzing requirements
  • Experience reading and creating system and interconnect drawings for electronic, software, or mechanical systems
  • Ability to write test plans and procedures
  • Ability to write training material
  • Comfort with agile development methods in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance
  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED

Preferred skills:

  • M.S. or higher in engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics (counts for 2 years of experience)
  • Experience developing system, software, and/or test architectures
  • Experience with electronic hardware production
  • Experience writing or contributing to proposals

Where is the position located?

This position is located at our Tucson, AZ Headquarters.

*The likely salary range for this position is $116,000 to $142,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
