Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
Work as a peer academic advisor on behalf of the Physics Program
Responsibilities
  • Respond to student inquiries in a timely manner
  • Identify current and potential needs of students and refer them to the appropriate faculty advisor
  • Maintain detailed and accurate advising notes
  • Document all pertinent student information
  • Assist students with registration and provides guidance on course selection
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Program Director, Academic Advising Center, and faculty advisers
  • Assist in developing and giving presentations to students at campus-wide advising events including New Student Orientation
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Little to minimal prior experience. Ability to learn support process. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. FERPA training is required.
