Methodist Senior Services is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis at our Skilled Nursing Facility in West Point, Mississippi.
This is an excellent opportunity for a PTA looking for schedule flexibility while remaining part of a supportive, team-oriented environment.

About the Role
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist.
Responsibilities include:
  • Implementing individualized treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist
  • Accurately documenting treatments and resident progress
  • Collaborating with therapists, nursing staff, and other members of the care team
  • Promoting a positive and encouraging therapy experience for residents

Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of one (1) year rehabilitation experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility. Prefer active membership in the state and national American Physical Therapy Association.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program. Current license or eligible for license under statutes in the state of Mississippi. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Adequate computer skills in order to complete required job duties and computerized documentation. Ability to understand and follow the directions of the Physical Therapist and the policies and procedures of Methodist Senior Services.
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk, bend, drive, stand, sit and reach constantly during an eight (8) hour day/shift. Ability to speak and hear to understand and give directions. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to assess and monitor patient/resident needs, maintain accurate records, understand directions and recognize people. Fine and gross motor skills. Ability to push wheeled equipment throughout the facility and in the community. Work endurance ability to work eight (8) hour days/shifts. Ability to participate in sustained activity for up to three and one-half (3.5) hours at a time. Reading and comprehension skills for analyzing reports, charts and correspondence. Possesses highly developed communication and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions: Typical therapy clinic environment. Strong organizational skills in order to effectively maintain multiple projects simultaneously. Requires creativity as well as the ability to work independently. Ability to be discreet and maintain confidential information.
