Introduction:

AppLovin is looking for an experienced Physical Security Manager to join our team. As the Physical Security Manager at AppLovin, you will be responsible for developing our core GSOC and physical security deliverables for office locations globally, and help evolve our global program. You will work cross functionally within the Corporate Facilities team and alongside other business teams at the company to keep AppLovin offices secure and safe. The role involves managing a team of security personnel and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and laws. This person will be an integral part of the AppLovin day to day and have the opportunity to shape company culture. The ideal candidate has experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and supporting the needs of employees. This role is based in our Palo Alto, CA HQ and is a 100% in-office role.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a leader on the team reporting to the Director of Facilities Operations.
  • Manage and provide oversight of our GSOC and physical security operations function and support the wider team globally as required.
  • Build collaborative cross-functional partnerships with HR, Legal, Security, Facilities and other cross-functional partners.
  • Build, review, and refine policy and procedure guidance documents for security practices, user operations escalations, event management, crisis management, and incident documentation.
  • Manage the access control/badging and CCTV systems
  • Manage our Environmental Health & Safety program to ensure emergency incident and crisis response plans are in place and tested regularly. Support the operations team globally on their programs as needed.
  • Provide security design expertise and project management in relation to new office builds and expansion efforts globally as needed.
  • Manage our visitor management and mass notification system.
  • Lead investigations of physical security and safety incidents, including documentation and escalation.
  • Perform regular security site assessments and audits to ensure we are compliant with laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Event leads and GSOC to monitor HQ onsite events and obtain documentation and real-time alerts as needed.
  • Manage the partnership with all security vendors and partners.
  • Own our ERT program and provide training to the team to ensure all are aware of our evacuation protocols and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Director of Facilities Operations on forecasting the annual security budget.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
Requirements:

Experience and Background

  • Experience in global or multi-site security operations, including coordinating across different time zones and regulatory environments.
  • Prior experience managing third-party security vendors, guard services, and contractors.
  • Experience programming, deploying, and managing access control systems, video management systems (VMS), and intercom systems.
  • Proficiency with Avigilon Alta Mobile badging software (current platform in use).
  • Knowledge of Lenel and/or Milestone software systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with IT/InfoSec integration points, including badging system integrations, networked cameras, and physical access provisioning.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, JIRA, Gmail, and Google Workspace (Docs, Drive, etc.).
Security Operations
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols and procedures.
  • Experience conducting investigations of physical security or safety-related incidents, including formal incident reporting and documentation.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and security audits across single and multi-site environments.
  • Experience developing and executing emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and active threat response protocols.
  • Ability to manage security for company events and high-profile gatherings.
  • Familiarity with travel security and executive protection best practices.
  • Experience developing and delivering security awareness training programs for employees.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with the highest degree of discretion.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets related to physical security programs and vendor contracts.
  • Effective collaboration with IT, InfoSec, HR, Legal, and Facilities teams on security-related matters.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of employees, visitors, and executive leadership.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Superior multi-tasking and time-management capabilities in a fast-paced environment.

Total compensation at AppLovin is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
