Wellness & Fitness Coordinator Position Overview: This is professional work in supervising and coordinating recreation, community service fitness programs, activities and events. Work involves responsibility for planning, implementing, promoting and coordinating recreation, community service and fitness programs, climbing wall and activities at a large community fitness center.

Work also involves planning and scheduling of recreation facilities, and for overseeing operations and maintenance. Work involving accounting for revenue generated from facility rental and membership fees and large group programs. Work requires frequent contact with community leaders, various civic groups, various departments with The City of Huntsville.

Supervision is exercised over a staff of recreation aides. Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, or a related field from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and five or more years experience in running a recreational membership facility, with emphasis on volleyball, indoor soccer/futbal, climbing wall and fitness programming

Valid Driver's License. Desired Qualifications: First Aid, AED, and CPR Certification desired. Climbing Wall Instructor (CWI) Certification desired.
