JOB DESCRIPTION
The Visual Content Producer - Photography is responsible for planning, capturing, editing, and delivering high-quality photography that supports Lakewood Church's global marketing, branding, and storytelling efforts. This role leads photography production for campaigns, events, digital platforms, ministry initiatives, and other creative needs while ensuring all imagery aligns with Lakewood's brand standards and visual direction.
This position combines hands-on photography expertise with production planning, creative direction, and cross-functional collaboration. The Visual Content Producer works closely with the Senior Digital Producer, Director of Branding, Marketing team, and other ministry partners to deliver compelling visual content that supports Lakewood Church, Joel Osteen Ministries, Lakewood Music, Youth, and other ministry areas.
This position reports directly to the Senior Digital Producer.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Production Planning & Creative Direction
  • Lead photography projects from concept through final delivery, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with campaign goals
  • Collaborate with the Senior Digital Producer, Director of Branding, Marketing team, and ministry partners to develop visual concepts, shot direction, and creative strategies
  • Plan pre-production needs, including creative briefs, mood boards, shot lists, scheduling, location scouting, and resource coordination
  • Establish production timelines and coordinate necessary resources to support successful project execution

Photography Execution & On-Set Direction
  • Capture high-quality photography for campaigns, events, editorial needs, digital platforms, ministry initiatives, and live experiences
  • Direct subjects, environments, lighting, and composition to create strong visual storytelling
  • Operate professional camera systems and apply advanced knowledge of exposure, lighting, color, lensing, and composition
  • Make real-time creative and technical decisions during shoots to ensure final images meet expectations
  • Maintain organized, professional, and efficient shoot environments

Post-Production
  • Edit, retouch, color correct, and process images using Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and related tools
  • Prepare and export final assets for print, web, social media, LED walls, and other digital platforms
  • Organize, archive, and maintain photography assets according to established workflows
  • Ensure final deliverables meet brand standards, technical requirements, and project timelines

Project & Workflow Management
  • Manage multiple photography projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and deadlines
  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, freelancers, photographers, and support staff to ensure smooth production execution
  • Maintain photography equipment, production resources, and asset management processes
  • Follow established workflows, best practices, and department standards for all photography production
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Uncompromised commitment to Lakewood Church's vision, mission, values, and core beliefs
  • Demonstrated Christ-like character with professional appearance and conduct
  • Extensive experience in professional photography, including commercial, marketing, editorial, campaign, and event photography
  • Strong ability to plan and execute photography productions from start to finish
  • Advanced knowledge of lighting, composition, visual storytelling, exposure, color, and lensing
  • Proficiency with professional camera systems, including Canon, Sony, Hasselblad, or similar systems
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Lightroom and Photoshop
  • Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to direct shoots and manage on-set operations in a professional and efficient manner
  • Experience working within brand guidelines for large organizations or high-visibility brands
  • Ability to guide photographers, freelancers, support staff, and other creative contributors as needed
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across teams, departments, and ministry partners
  • Knowledge of asset management, file organization, and photography workflow systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, Sundays, and live events as required
  • Physical ability to stand, move, lift, carry, and transport photography equipment for extended periods

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional photography production experience, including marketing, campaign, and event photography
  • Professional photography portfolio required
  • Bachelor's degree in Photography, Visual Communications, Media Studies, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent professional experience accepted in lieu of a degree
