Job description

AUTOMOTIVE RECONDITIONING & MERCHANDISING SPECIALIST

 

Department: Service

Reports to: Service Manager  

Wage Range: $40,000 - $65,000

 

Job Summary

The Automotive Reconditioning & Merchandising Specialist is responsible for detailing the inside and outside of vehicles, buffing used cars, paint touch up on used cars and taking photos of vehicles and ensuring all online content is accurate for the customer.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Clean vehicle exterior by hand, brush or pressure washer
  • Polish, dry and clean vehicle windshields, windows, lights and exterior body
  • Wax and buff vehicles using cloths and/or buffing machines
  • Vacuum to remove any debris or dirt
  • Shampoo and clean upholstery and surfaces (stain removal may be required)
  • Use air compressor and cloths to dry surfaces
  • Apply product to protect leather or fabric of vehicles
  • Clean and remove grease in engine compartment
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Taking photos of new and used vehicle inventory.
  • Printing window stickers for used vehicles and placing them into vehicles window.
  • Uploading images to inventory management system.
  • Working closely with our new and used car managers fully merchandise our inventory online as quickly as possible.
  • Writing comments or descriptions for inventory.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Candidates should be self-motivated, able to work well under pressure, enjoy the outdoors and be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Experience with basic computer systems and internet required.
  • Valid state driver’s license & ability to be insured through RMC liability insurance required

Physical Demands

  • Operate hand tools and machinery
  • Move tires, body panels and other equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Position body to perform vehicle maintenance
