Location: La Sierra University Campus Marketing Department
Hours: up to 20 hours per week
Position Overview
La Sierra University is looking for a student Photographer who can capture the authentic pulse of our campus life. This role is not about posed studio shots. It is about capturing candid, diverse student experiences that show what the La Sierra community is like. You will be one of the visual storytellers for social media, ensuring every image helps a prospective student imagine their future here.
Key Responsibilities
  • Capture real-time, high-quality photography at campus events, athletics, and spiritual life gatherings.
  • Schedule and execute batch photo shoots for various segments (Business, Biology, Theology, and Arts).
  • Ensure photography represents a diverse range of student personalities, cultures, and academic programs.
  • Provide real-time photo coverage for major university events, which may include evenings and weekends.
  • Edit photos for clarity and vibrancy while maintaining an authentic (non-over-processed) look.

Weekly Expectations
Time Commitment
  • Up to 20 hours per week
  • Flexible scheduling around classes
  • Occasional nights and weekends required

Content Output
Content output may differ depending on the University's schedule each week.
  • Minimum: 15-20 photos per session
  • Expected: 30-50 photos per session

Content should be fully edited, approved, and ready for publishing.
Qualifications
  • Current La Sierra University student.
  • Portfolio of digital photography.
  • Proficiency in editing tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Affinity, etc).
  • Comfortable directing peers and faculty for authentic candid moments.
  • Experience with mobile photography and/or DSLR/Mirrorless systems.
  • Ability to manage projects from concept to completion.
  • Training will be provided.
