Our client, a leading national retail organization known for delivering trend-forward, guest-focused shopping experiences, is seeking a Photo Art Director to support style-driven in-store marketing campaigns. This role plays a key part in shaping elevated visual concepts and executing compelling campaigns that enhance the in-store experience.This position is ideal for a creative professional who combines strong conceptual thinking, visual storytelling, and hands-on photo art direction experience, particularly within retail, apparel, or consumer brand environments.

Job Description
The Photo Art Director will partner closely with internal creative, design, and marketing teams to bring style-focused campaigns to lifefrom concept through final execution. This role requires a balance of big-picture creative vision and detailed executional oversight across photo shoots and campaign assets.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop high-level creative concepts and style-forward campaign themes
  • Translate campaign ideas into in-store marketing deliverables and cross-channel creative assets
  • Collaborate with photographers, stylists, designers, writers, producers, and marketing teams throughout the creative lifecycle
  • Provide on-set art direction during photo shoots to ensure alignment with campaign vision
  • Review photography selects and guide post-production efforts, including retouching and color direction
  • Create and present mood boards, creative decks, and pre-production materials
  • Plan, cast, and manage talent expectations for photo shoots
  • Oversee creative execution from concept through final asset delivery
  • Ensure consistency of visual storytelling across all campaign and brand touchpoints
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback into creative solutions that align with business and marketing objectives
  • Manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
Additional Information:Occasional travel may be required to support photo shoots and production needs
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 57+ years of professional experience in photo art direction, with a focus on style or fashion-driven campaigns
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual excellence and high-quality execution across retail, brand, and campaign work
  • Proven experience developing and executing style-led marketing campaigns
  • Advanced visual storytelling, composition, and design skills
  • Experience leading projects from concept development through post-production
  • Ability to translate creative concepts into customer-facing marketing assets
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with cross-functional teams (creative, marketing, production)
  • Strong understanding of fashion, retail trends, and consumer behavior
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Mac platform
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be local and available to work onsite 23 days per week
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in fashion, retail, or consumer brand marketing
  • Experience supporting style-focused or fashion-forward campaigns
  • Experience creating assets for in-store experiences and/or digital marketing channels
  • Experience working within large, enterprise-level brand environments
  • Exposure to print design, 3D design, or experiential/physical space design
