Position Summary
The Roofing Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the on-site execution of roofing projects from initial homeowner contact through final quality inspection. This role is essential to ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards while delivering an exceptional customer experience. The position uses a company-issued tablet to manage documentation, job updates, photos, and change orders.

Key Responsibilities

Before the Job Starts:
  • Contact homeowners on the day of the scheduled job to introduce yourself and provide the timeline for the day.
  • Confirm all materials have been delivered and match the scope of work.
  • Print and post permits as required before work begins.
  • Ensure yard signs are installed.
  • Review the scope of work with subcontractors to confirm expectations.
  • Take and upload pre-construction photos.
  • Document and communicate discrepancies or concerns before the project begins.

During the Roofing Process:
  • Provide homeowners with daily updates throughout the job.
  • Monitor jobsite safety and workmanship and address concerns in real time.
  • Take and upload progress photos throughout the project.
  • Track and document all material usage, including stock items.
  • Coordinate additional materials as needed.
  • Discuss minor scope changes with homeowners.
  • Create and execute change orders and secure signatures in person or electronically.
  • Notify the Project Manager of major change order needs.
  • Use a tablet and CRM to document job progress, notes, and updates.

At Project Completion:
  • Perform a final walkthrough and quality inspection within required timelines.
  • Create punch lists for any deficiencies and notify the Project Manager immediately.
  • Ensure the property is clean and left in excellent condition.
  • Take and upload final completion photos.
  • Update the CRM with accurate completion status.
  • Submit all required documentation, including photos, change orders, and material usage records.
  • Verify completion of punch list items with photo documentation.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications:
  • Experience in roofing, construction supervision, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and maintain professional jobsite standards.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on safety, quality, and documentation.
  • Comfort using tablets, apps, and CRM systems in the field.
  • Ability to identify issues quickly and solve problems proactively.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, if required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in residential roofing project oversight.

  • Experience handling change orders, permits, and quality inspections.
  • Familiarity with GAF steep slope systems or willingness to complete required training.
