Multi-Platform Editor
Primary Function:
The Multi-Platform Editor is a "lived-in" storyteller who can polish written submissions and also draft the narrative arcs for the video short verticals and the podcast scripts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following tasks are considered essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions:
  • Contribute to the planning, coordination, and execution of news and information content across multiple digital platforms, including web, mobile, social media, and newsletters.
  • Edit stories with a focus on accuracy, clarity, engagement, and platform-appropriate presentation.
  • Create scripts for short vertical videos and podcasts that are timely, relevant and journalistically sound.
  • Edit headlines, copy, and multimedia elements for SEO optimization, audience engagement, and platform best practices.
  • Collaborate with reporters, producers, designers, video editors, and other editorial teams to develop cross-platform storytelling strategies.
  • Curate and manage web, newsletter, and social media content to maximize reach, engagement, and audience retention.
  • Ensure consistent editorial standards across all platforms, including accuracy, tone, style, and legal compliance.
  • Coordinate with audience engagement and social media teams to amplify content and optimize performance.
  • Support development of multimedia storytelling formats, including video, graphics, live blogs, and interactive features.

Other Duties:
Perform additional job-related duties and take on new responsibilities as needed based on organizational requirements and circumstances.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Candidates are required to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, Communications, English, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in a newsroom or digital publishing environment.
  • 7+ years of experience in journalism, digital media, or newsroom production, including significant work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proven experience editing, producing, or managing content across multiple digital platforms (web, mobile, social, newsletters, and/or apps).
  • Strong background in digital-first storytelling, including breaking news coverage, live updates, and multimedia packaging.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and edit compelling headlines, summaries, and social copy optimized for SEO and audience engagement.
  • Familiarity with audience engagement strategies, including social media publishing, newsletter growth, and platform optimization.
  • Strong editing skills with a focus on accuracy, clarity, style, and consistency across multiple formats.
  • Experience collaborating with reporters, producers, designers, video teams, and audience or growth teams in a newsroom environment.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English.
