What are some common challenges Photo Book Designers face when collaborating with clients, and how can they be addressed?

Photo Book Designers often encounter challenges such as unclear client vision, frequent revision requests, and managing expectations regarding layout and image quality. To address these, clear communication at the project's outset is crucial—discussing style preferences, intended use, and design goals can help align expectations. Utilizing mood boards, sample layouts, and regular check-ins throughout the design process also ensures clients feel involved and satisfied with the end product, reducing the need for major revisions later on.

What are photo book designers?

Photo book designers are professionals who specialize in creating visually appealing and cohesive photo books. They use design software and their artistic skills to arrange photographs, select layouts, and add decorative elements or text to tell a story or commemorate an event. Photo book designers work with clients to understand their vision and preferences, ensuring that the final product is personalized and high-quality. They may design books for weddings, travel, family memories, or professional portfolios. Their expertise helps transform simple photo collections into cherished keepsakes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Photo Book Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Photo Book Designer, you need a solid background in graphic design, a keen eye for visual storytelling, and proficiency in layout composition, usually supported by a relevant degree or portfolio. Mastery of design software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Lightroom is essential, along with familiarity with digital printing processes. Creativity, attention to detail, and strong communication skills help you collaborate with clients and ensure each project meets their vision. These skills are crucial for producing high-quality, visually compelling photo books that satisfy client expectations and stand out in a competitive market.

Job description

Overview
The BluEdge Media division is a creative production partner delivering high-end post-production and digital content services for brands, agencies, and creative teams that demand excellence. In an environment where mediocrity is not an option, we combine deep technical expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset to produce work that elevates campaigns and drives results.
Our integrated team of layout artists, retouchers, VFX and CGI specialists, AI technologists, and production professionals collaborates closely to bring ambitious creative visions to life. As demand grows for advanced digital content and AI-powered production services, we are seeking a senior-level sales professional to expand our presence across the creative, advertising, and brand marketing ecosystem.
The Role
The Senior Account Executive, Digital Content & Creative Production is a high-impact, client-facing role responsible for driving revenue through both existing relationships and new business development. This position is designed for a proven seller with an established book of business and a strong understanding of how creative, marketing, and production teams buy post-production and digital content services.
This is not an entry-level sales role. We are looking for a confident, consultative professional who understands creative workflows, can navigate agency and brand environments, and can clearly articulate the value of sophisticated production services-including emerging AI-driven solutions.
The role reports to the Vice President of Sales. While primarily remote, proximity to New York City is strongly preferred for collaboration and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage and expand an existing book of business, growing long-term client value
  • Identify, qualify, and close new opportunities through targeted outbound prospecting and inbound lead follow-up
  • Build trusted relationships with creative, marketing, and production decision-makers at agencies and brands
  • Sell BluEdge Media's post-production and digital content services, including:
    • Photo retouching and image compositing
    • VFX and CGI product modeling
    • AI-driven product modeling and image generation
    • OOH layouts and large-format creative preparation
    • Print mechanicals and production-ready files
  • Lead client presentations, demos, and solution discussions with clarity and confidence
  • Collaborate closely with internal creative, production, and operations teams to ensure seamless onboarding and execution
  • Act as a trusted advisor throughout the engagement lifecycle, maintaining open communication and high client satisfaction
  • Track pipeline activity, opportunities, and client interactions within CRM systems

Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven success in selling creative, digital, or post-production services, ideally within advertising, branding, or media production environments
  • An active, transferable book of business within agencies, brands, or creative organizations
  • Strong understanding of post-production workflows, digital asset creation, and campaign execution
  • Experience engaging senior-level creative, marketing, and production stakeholders
  • Self-starter mentality with excellent time management, follow-through, and attention to detail
  • Comfortable conducting business via phone, video, and in-person meetings
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally with creative and technical teams

Why BluEdge
  • Opportunity to sell a growing portfolio of high-demand digital and AI-powered services
  • Backing of an established, respected organization with a strong reputation in creative production
  • Collaborative culture that values expertise, accountability, and innovation
  • Flexibility of a remote-first role with access to in-person collaboration when valuable
  • A platform built for sellers who want to grow meaningful, long-term client relationships
