What is a photo assistant?

Photo assistants are professionals who help photographers during photo shoots by setting up equipment, managing lighting, organizing props, and ensuring that everything runs smoothly on set. Their responsibilities can also include handling digital files, maintaining gear, and assisting with post-shoot breakdown. Photo assistants play a crucial role in supporting photographers so that they can focus on capturing the best possible images. This role is often an entry point for those looking to gain experience and build a career in photography.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a photo assistant?

To thrive as a Photo Assistant, you need a solid understanding of photography principles, lighting techniques, and basic camera operations, often supported by coursework or hands-on experience. Familiarity with studio equipment, photo editing software like Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom, and digital asset management systems is typically required. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly and take direction are standout soft skills. These abilities ensure smooth photo shoots, efficient workflow, and effective support for photographers in achieving creative objectives.

What are some common challenges faced by a photo assistant during on-location shoots?

As a Photo Assistant on location, you may encounter challenges such as managing unpredictable lighting conditions, handling heavy or delicate equipment, and adapting quickly to changing environments. You’ll often need to anticipate the photographer’s needs, problem-solve on the spot, and ensure that all gear is transported and set up safely. Being proactive, communicative, and organized is key to overcoming these challenges and supporting a smooth, successful shoot.

Job description

Little Caesars, America’s best value in pizza, is looking for energetic and fun people to join our team. Specifically, we are looking for workers over the age of 18 for our closing shifts (4pm - 10pm weeknights). We recognize those who excel in their roles, and we offer numerous opportunities for advancement as the company expands. Assistants are full-time employees who work 30-40 hours per week, and are eligible for healthcare benefits after 90 days, and 401k investment after 1 year. And as an assistant, you can still earn a share of the tips!

We offer a competitive starting wage, and being an Assistant Manager is the first step in the ladder of management success. Your starting pay is dependent on your level of experience. If you have a good, solid background of leading shifts, high customer service skills, and a strong work ethic, you can start at a higher pay rate per hour. Not overly experienced? Don't worry, we'll train you!

Do you have the experience we're looking for, but you're only looking for part-time hours? We might still have a spot for you! We also hire for shift lead positions -- essentially the same job, except that shift leads work 29 hours per week or less.

So, if you are a team player who is ready to learn and grow with a great company, we would love to meet you!

Our Values:

Serve others: We are in the business of making our customers’ lives easier every chance we get.  We are generous and selfless.

Own your work: We give more than what’s expected.  We embrace accountability and care deeply.  We have relentlessly high standards and never accept less than the best.

Invent Something: We make things happen.  We are curious, adventurous, and open-minded.  We believe in taking the initiative to improve whatever we touch.  We dream it, then do it.

Never Give Up:  We act fast with fearless determination.  Obstacles never stop us from reaching our goals.

Be an All-Star: We believe in more than just being a player.  We aim to raise the bar, inspire, motivate, mentor, and make an impact.  We strive to be a force of good and a source of fun.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be available nights and weekends
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Friendly
  • Fun
  • Hard working
  • Dependable
  • Respectful
  • 6-12 months supervisory experience preferred for Assistant Manager
  • 35 hours per week
  • Conversational English is a must, but bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • Must present a valid (not expired) photo ID, as well as an original social security card (no copies) or a birth certificate; OR a valid (not expired) passport only
  • Possess basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide; can you count to 40?)
  • Ability to read an analog clock is a plus!

Location: Fort Payne, 601 Gault Ave S, Fort Payne, AL 35967, USA

The global chain that Little Caesars is today began with a blind date between Mike Ilitch and Marian Bayoff that was arranged by Mike’s father in 1954. Within just a matter of months, the couple was married. We continue to be a family owned business that believes in hard work, having fun and making it so every family can afford pizza night.
