Job Summary
The work study program provides funds for part-time employment to help students finance the costs of postsecondary education. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student's course of study. The program is designed to provide students with an opportunity for employment arranged around class schedules, while providing essential services to the College and the community.
Essential Functions
Greet students, visitors, faculty, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide directions and general campus information to students and visitors and answer basic questions regarding campus services, departments, and events.
Assist with the operation of the student photo ID station, including taking ID photos and issuing student identification cards.
Direct visitors and students to appropriate offices, resources, and personnel.
Maintain a welcoming and organized reception and information desk area.
Assist with light administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document preparation.
Monitor and replenish informational materials and campus publications.
Follow established procedures regarding student records and confidentiality.
Provide support for special events and other Student Services activities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Comfortable learning and using office technology, including Microsoft Office applications, email, and photo ID software.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to seek assistance when needed.
Familiarity with campus resources, student services, or college environments.
Ability to communicate effectively with varied populations and accurately provide information and directions while representing the institution in a positive manner.
Demonstrated professionalism in appearance, conduct, communication, and workplace interactions.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information appropriately.
