Job Summary: In-Room Dining Order Takers represents the first point of contact to in-room dining for all guests and are responsible to coordinate all service requirements addressed to the In-Room Dining department. They are primarily responsible for guest orders, tray pick-ups, amenities, etc. via phone to provide guests with a memorable in-room dining experience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Answer telephone using courteous, efficient telephone etiquette while obtaining all information necessary to process the guest's order according to One&Onlly Standards, describe the selection of food & beverage menu items to guests by offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item's, origin, taste, and preparation methods
  • Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the kitchen using the hotel's point-of-sales system; check completed kitchen orders with the guest's original order; coordinate delivery of items to the guestroom by In-Room Dining Servers in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality; properly and accurately close guest checks; record guest charges and gratuities
  • Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests
  • Coordinate amenity deliveries by ensuring that all requests are received, filed, ordered from kitchen and delivered in a prompt and accurate fashion
  • Completes Room Service paperwork to ensure proper billing of all charges to appropriate guest account
  • Dispatch server to handle guest requests and remove In-Room Dining trays/items once dining experience is completed
  • Be knowledgeable of all services, facilities and products offered by the hotel
  • All other duties as assigned by a member of the leadership team
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous serving experience required
  • Excellent oral communication skills required

Physical Requirements

The ideal candidate must be able to perform all physical requirements of the job in a safe manner, with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and bending in an operational environment for extended periods Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and pulling Lifting and carrying of loads weighing up to 50 pounds Working in outdoor environments, including high altitudes, that may present extreme weather conditions such as snow, ice, rain, heat, wind, etc.
