Mcgee Toyota Of Dudley is seeking experience Automotive Sales Consultants!  We are breaking ground on a brand new 30,000 square foot facility in Putnam, CT and we're looking to expand our team!  Hourly + commission!  Great benefits!  Closed on Sunday's!


POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Consultant is directly responsible for selling new and used vehicles at the dealership in a professional manner that is consistent with McGee Automotive’s core philosophies, principles, and values. The gross profit, volume and customer satisfaction standard will be set by management.

The Sales Consultant will be held accountable to:

  1. Support the company mission, realizing that business is built on customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and profitability. Commit to providing best in industry customer service to every McGee customer.
  2. Ensure that all company policies, procedures, programs, and strategies are followed and executed effectively.
  3. Implement effectively all the duties, responsibilities, and requirements outlined in this job description.
  4. Set a professional standard that always reflects favorably on McGee.
  5. Reports any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers or employees to management


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use the Sales process 100% of the time including KBB Instant Cash Offer value on all trade in vehicles.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with all employees and commit to having a positive attitude as well as encouraging the same with co-workers.
  • Always provide accurate information to your managers.
  • Always provide your customer with all the information they need to make an informed buying decision. Present a multi-payment worksheet to every customer. Ensure every customer is loaded into the CRM with 2 phone numbers and an email address with appropriate sourcing
  • Commit to every customer talking to a manager before they leave the dealership while in process of working a deal and make certain every customer gets an exit T/O after they purchase as well.


  • Manage the entire delivery process of the vehicle,
  1. Confirm that the vehicle has all the necessary equipment installed several hours prior to delivery.
  2. Arrange for used vehicle safety check at least 4 hours prior to scheduled delivery to the customer. N/A Dealership responsibility
  3. Make sure the vehicle is fueled then cleaned inside and out to dealer standards one hour prior to delivery.
  4. Verify that all documents are signed correctly and that all moneys due to dealer are collected prior to the customer taking physical delivery. Ensure all trade titles are collected. A manager is to inspect all paperwork before a customer takes physical delivery of their vehicle.
  5. Make sure the customer understands all the features of their new vehicle. Perform New vehicle deliveries to manufactures and dealership requirements.
  6. Understand state specific registry laws pertaining to vehicle delivery and registration laws
  7. Arrange for accurately completed registration documentation. Contact the customer as soon as the registration arrives.
  8. Introduce the customer to a service consultant before delivery.
  9. Make sure that the owner’s manual is completed, the vehicles warranty is explained, and the maintenance schedule is understood.
  10. Cover the new vehicle customer satisfaction survey with every customer stressing the importance of 100% satisfaction.


  • Maintain an owner follow up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction.
  • Work with the general sales manager to maintain a prospect development and follow up system.
  • Log every showroom, phone, and Internet lead into the CRM.
  • Meet with your Manager to assist you in establishing personal income goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet those goals.
  • Have a reasonable knowledge of the main competitive models and the differences and advantages of our brand.
  • Maintain Customer Satisfaction Index at or above the regional average (2 consecutive months below average can lead to dismissal).
  • Attend all PAG required training seminars and company meetings.
  • Complete all test drives via the stores designated test drive route
  • Complete and maintain all manufacturer product certification requirements
  • Complete all 3rd party training certifications per the dealership’s requirements. (EX Phone Ninjas)



REQUIREMENTS:

  • Maintains professional growth and development through self-directed learning activities and involvement in professional organizations
  • Maintain knowledge of product updates, features, accessories, etc., and how they benefit specific needs of the customer.
  • Understand all the Federal and State laws pertaining to retail auto sales, and cash reporting regulations.
  • Ability to pass all product knowledge, core competency tests administered by members of Prime management team 
  • Understand the basic federal and local laws pertaining to retail auto sales.
  • Always maintains professional appearance and demeanor, including work areas.
  • Be punctual to all scheduled shifts and meetings.
  • Participate in snow removal and lot maintenance as necessary.


EDUCATION / SKILLS EXPERIENCE

  • Must have 5+ year’s equivalent experience. 
  • Must have excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate in person, over the phone and in writing as well as strong interpersonal and customer services skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and deal with highly confidential information appropriately in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Attend, complete certification of the Respect Sales Process Training Meet the required Core Competencies and always review your sales process. Practice all techniques acquired through certification at least 3 times per week in Respect Training class in you store.
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff though-out the organization required.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook
