Description:Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center, Lab Hartford CT
You would be responsible to obtain blood specimens at Hartford area nursing homes, to process laboratory specimens for clinical analysis and to provide patient information to the appropriate care giver. Your work is vital to the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients. Dependable transportation is required and good driving record.
What will you do:
Properly identifies patient per policy and performs venipuncture using standard/butterfly methods
Labels all specimens following laboratory policy
Receives/cancels/orders and processes laboratory/microbiology specimens
Work Hours/Shift:
24hrs, Day Shift (6am-2:30pm), e/o wknd, rotating holidays, servicing Hartford area nursing homes. On-Call Hours
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of Phlebotomy Training Program
At least one year of phlebotomy experience
National Certification preferred
Dependable transportation for travel to nursing homes. Mileage reimbursement is provided. As well as, driver's license in good standing
