Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Healthcare Instructor provides instruction for Phlebotomy classes for the Multi-Skilled Technician course. Duties include planning lessons, monitoring skills and assessing student progress on an ongoing basis, collecting, recording and reporting all necessary information related to students in a timely manner. Helps keep up to date student records, files and gradebooks. Monday-Friday for a total of 20-30 hours per week. A weekend schedule option may be available.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide class starting March 2026.
  • Attends 5-day in person orientation in Co, Ohio
  • Flexibility with class times are available, afternoons/weekends. We can work with your schedule.
  • Teaches the Phlebotomy curriculum certified through MedCA supplied by NCUS TEC.
  • May need to update curriculum to best practices, lesson plans, teaching materials to aid students in developing skills and confidence in healthcare areas.
  • Integrates computer-aided instruction into lessons as appropriate.
  • Teaches hands on skills in the healthcare courses.
  • Attends Clinical sites (if applicable) and Skills Lab with students and overseas for safety.
  • Attends skills lab testing for safety of students and volunteers.
  • Collects, records, and reports all necessary information related to students.
  • Attends company-wide engagement and volunteer activities including outreach.
  • Keeps up to date with professional development and CEU’s.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in nursing but bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred or must be a Certified Phlebotomy Technician/ Certified Medical Assistant from a reputable school with active certification and must have at least 5 years of work experience in the phlebotomy field.
  • Experience working with adult and High School learners preferred.
  • CPR Certification and Bloodborne Pathogen certification
  • Registered Nurse or Certified Phlebotomy Technician/ MA with active license for the state of Ohio
  • Experience teaching or instructing adults, in class instruction and clinical settings (preferred).
  • Ability to perform and teach, venipuncture, capillary stick and urine drug testing.
